What do you mean by 'ethical'?
Ethics is a terribly confusing and curly domain and so we have done our best to simplify what we consider to be ethical manufacturing and what the minimum requirements are for our products and brands on Ethical Pet Supply. To fall under our umbrella of ethical manufacturing, the items in our store will be one of the following;
- Handmade or
- Made in Australia or
- Made overseas & be in line with the Ethical Trading Initiative.
If items are made overseas, we personally look into the practices that the manufacturer undertakes to ensure it is in line with our values.
For customer transparency, we also have 'Made Overseas' as a tag on these items and disclose the fact that they are made overseas in the product description. If you have any concerns about a product being ethical, we encourage you to please let us know via our Contact Form here.
Why do you stock some items manufactured overseas?
Through the development process of Ethical Pet Supply, we found that many brands (specifically apparel) that while designed in Australia, are manufactured overseas. After much consideration, we decided that due to the brands still being Australian owned and the limitations in manufacturing products (such as harnesses) at an affordable cost in Australia, that it is acceptable to list products that are Australian owned & designed but manufactured overseas.
To ensure that Ethical Pet Supply remains an ethical & conscious company, if items are manufactured overseas, they are disclosed and listed on the product page. In addition to this, the manufacturer needs to practice ethical trading. "Ethical trade addresses the ethical aspects of organisations including worker welfare, agricultural practice, natural resource conservation, and sustainability of the environment" (Ethical Trading Initiative).

What is your stance on leather, wool, meat, dairy or other animal products?
We may, on occasion, stock wool and leather items. If you see a wool or leather item on our store, we have worked with the brand who have disclosed where the wool or leather is sourced and the practices used to manufacture it. We have determined that it is as ethical as possible. We will disclose this information clearly on the product page.
We do stock treats and food for pets that contains meat and items that may contain other animal products. We have worked alongside several professionals in the industry to determine the best practices to follow when it comes to pet-health and all concluded that meat is an essential part of a pets diet. Therefore, you will see meat products on our site. If you or your pets are vegan that's totally fine! We have a filter on our site HERE so you can choose from the items that are in line with your values.
Shipping & Handling
How much does postage cost?
Most of our items are available for FREE shipping and handling Australia wide. There are a few exceptions for particularly heavy or bulky items. These are listed in the product description.
All items that offer International Postage will have a Rest Of World option prior to you adding the item to your cart and the price is disclosed in the description of that item.
There are no sneaky costs added when you get to checkout.
Why haven't I received my full order?
If you have purchased more than one item from different brands, it is highly likely that they will be delivered separately. This is because they are being sent from the brand directly. Please wait a few days before contacting us regarding this as each brand has different handling times.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Within Australia, most brands deliver within 2 weeks of placing your order. There are some exceptions, for example, items that are custom or made-to-order. If you've been waiting longer than you would have expected for your delivery, please Contact Us Here and we will look into this for you right away.
My item is the wrong size. What do I do?
We don't offer refunds for errors made on your behalf. We do include all sizing information on the product listings to prevent any issues like this occurring.
We do understand that sometimes mistakes happen, so on some instances we may be able to arrange an exchange or a store credit - however, this isn't guaranteed. We encourage you to take a look at our Refund Policy HERE.
I chose the wrong size/colour/design. What do I do?
We don't offer refunds for change of mind. We understand that things don't always look exactly the same as you had expected though, so on some instances we may be able to arrange an exchange or a store credit - however, this isn't guaranteed. My item is faulty or not as described. What do I do?
Please contact us at email@example.com including your order number and photos if applicable. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
I'm looking for a phone number I can call but I can't find one.
That's because we don't have one! It's 2019 and business runs SO much better when things are in writing. It means we can take a moment to provide you with the best answer before getting back to you. We are as quick as possible with emails so we promise it won't be a hinderance.
